SPIDER VEIN removal
"SPIDER VEINS" AND OTHER VASCULAR LESIONS

An effective solution to spider veins
Spider veins or telangiectasia are small veins that appear on the face or legs. They are overgrown, enlarged blood vessels. The latest light treatments are very successful in permanently removing spider veins in the majority of cases.

How does it work?
Depending on your consultation outcome, we may use Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or a laser to the skin affected by spider veins. The light safely goes through the outer layers of the skin and directly heats up the affected blood vessels, destroying them without affecting the surrounding tissues.

What's the treatment like?
The treatment is a relatively quick procedure. A full face can be treated in approximately 20 minutes or longer, and may require no anesthesia or a mild local anesthesia. It is an absolute requirement that you use a medical-grade sunblock during the treatment process for 3-4 weeks prior and after the treatment. Sunblock needs to be applied several times throughout the day (and even if you are driving in a car or if it is cloudy).

How long does it last?
You can expect an improvement of the treated area after one or two treatments. Depending on the individual and the condition, additional sessions may be required. The results appear gradually over a period of about eight weeks.

Does it hurt?
There is only a hot and tingling sensation that is well tolerated. No anesthesia is required.

Are there any risks or side effects?
Side effects are minimal and are generally limited to a slight redness of the skin which should not persist for more than a few hours. In less than 1% of cases, skin lightening or darkening may occur.
