MICRODERMABRASION (MICRODERM)
Bring out the natural beauty of your skin
Microdermabrasion is a gentle, non-surgical, non-chemical, non-invasive method of skin exfoliation that uncovers the skin's smooth under layer and stimulates cell renewal and an increased production of collagen, giving your skin a refreshed, healthy appearance.
What is it for?
Microdermabrasion works best for the following skin conditions:
- Fine lines and wrinkes
- Enlarged and oily pores
- Small scars (acne or otherwise)
- Sun-damaged skin
- Age spots and surface pigmentation
- Blackheads and whiteheads
- Uneven skin tone
- All skin that needs renewal/refreshing
Microdermabrasion can be performed on your face, but also on your hands, chest and even on areas where rough skin is prevalent, such as elbows, knees and heels.
How does it work ?
A qualified, trained practitioner applies a handheld wand that propels a stream of medical grade micro-crystals at the skin, removing the outer layers of cells. The wand suctions the resulting debris and used crystals revealing new and vibrant skin.
How long does it last?
Results can be observed immediately after the treatment. Maintenance sessions are recommended (typically every two) months to maintain the result.
Does it hurt ?
The procedure is very gentle. Your skin will feel taut as the tip is pressed against it, with a mild tingling sensation.
Are there any risks or side effects?
Side effects are minimal and are generally limited to a slight redness of the skin which should subside within minutes. Exposure to the sun should be avoided for 24 hours after treatment and it is strongly advised that SPF 30 sunscreen be used during any future exposure to the sun.
The most important safety aspect of any treatment is the careful evaluation performed by a trusted physician.
